T-LOG 0001 - FROM THE SUN TO THE SEA

Memory

From the Sun to the Sea was the second song I ever wrote.

At the time, a lot of things in my life were shifting. A close friend had passed away from suicide in January of 2025, and around that same time I bought my first MIDI controller keyboard. That keyboard opened a completely new world for me. Suddenly I was learning how synths worked, experimenting with sound design, and slowly figuring out how songs were actually constructed.

Because everything was still new, this track took longer than most of the songs I write now. I was still learning Logic Pro, still trying to understand structure, and still figuring out how ideas turn into finished music.

Looking back, the song feels like a snapshot from the very beginning of the project—when everything was still being discovered.

Meaning

When I began recording the vocals, I didn’t have a clear lyrical concept. Most of the time I start by humming or mumbling melodies into the microphone until words begin to appear naturally.

The only thing I knew for certain was that I didn’t want the song to feel negative.

Lines like “from the sun to the sea” became anchors for the song’s imagery. They reflect where we live—Fort Lauderdale, Florida—where life really does exist somewhere between sunlight and ocean air. The phrase ended up shaping the emotional center of the track.

The lyrics themselves are intentionally simple. I often joke that I’m not a musical genius and definitely not a wordsmith. Instead of trying to force something more complex, I decided to embrace that simplicity.

At its core, the song is about gratitude.

Earlier in my life I went through my share of difficult moments, but things eventually changed. I built a life with my husband, and in many ways he has become the quiet center of most of the songs I write.

This track is really a small devotional to that life.

He supported me through a major transition—from Navy active duty public affairs into business systems analysis—and he’s supported this music project every step of the way. I spend a lot of late nights working on sounds and ideas, and he’s always been the one encouraging me to keep going.

Sometimes songs start with a grand idea.
Sometimes they begin with a simple moment of realization:

that you’re lucky to be exactly where you are.

Lyrics

Tell me anything

Anything that you want

You′re my everything

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

You're my everything

You′re everything that I want

You're everything that I need

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

Everything that you are

Is my everything

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

You're my everything

You′re everything I want

You′re everything I need

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea.

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

You're my everything

You′re everything that I want

You're everything that I need

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

From the sun to the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

How lucky I am to be by your side,

In the sun and the sea.

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea.

How lucky I am to be by your side

In the sun and the sea

From the sun to the sea

In the sun and the sea

From the sun to the sea

In the sun and the sea
